Is there a Telecommunicator at your PSAP that has taken extra steps to make a difference? Did a Telecommunicator Team go above and beyond in handling a difficult call? Do you know a Trainer or CTO that is making a positive difference? If so, today is the day that you can nominate that individual or team for one of the NCT9-1-1 Regional Telecommunicator Awards. Winners will be honored at the annual 9-1-1 Gala!
The time frame for nominations is January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022

TELECOMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR
Eligibility
The nominee must function as a front line dispatcher and/or call taker for police, fire, and/or EMS agencies who have handled a specific call for service or event between January 2022 – December 2022.
Criteria
The event should reflect his or her ability to determine situations from the caller(s) and ascertain all required information for the dispatch of the call. The nominee must take command of the conversation and make independent decisions related to the proper emergency response. The nominee must think and respond quickly as the emergency situation dictates. He or she addresses the needs and concerns of the caller along with the safety of the citizens and responders. The nominee must demonstrate his or her professional interaction with the caller(s), coworkers, and responders by applying skills such as multitasking, customer service and the operation of the equipment used. Most of all, the nominee must show the due respect to the Telecommunicator position.

TEAM OF THE YEAR
Eligibility
The team nominees are a group of two or more individuals who function as a front line dispatcher and/or call taker for police, fire, and/or EMS agencies for their exemplary handling of a specific call for service or event between January 2022 – December 2022.

The event should reflect the team’s ability to determine situations from the caller(s) and ascertain all required information for the dispatch of the call. The team nominees take command of the conversation and make independent decisions related to proper emergency response. The team nominees think and respond quickly as the emergency situation dictates. They must address the needs and concerns of the caller along with the safety of the citizens and responders. The team must demonstrate professional interaction with the caller(s), coworkers, and responders by applying skills such as multitasking, customer service and the operations of the equipment used. And most of all, the nominee must show the due respect to the Telecommunicator position.
SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR
Eligibility
The nominee must function as a supervisor for a Public Safety Answering Point, PSAP, with one or more employees. The nominee must have been employed by the agency as a supervisor during the time of January 2022 – December 2022.
Criteria
The nominee should demonstrate a positive and professional attitude toward all aspects of the position. Is familiar with all operations and functions expected of subordinates and demonstrate that knowledge on a regular basis. Monitors and evaluates staff performance for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established policies and procedures. He or she should be able to create plans, organize, establish objectives, resolve difficult and complex operational issues, and participate in the administrative operations. Recognize performance issues and take appropriate measures to correct, or praise employees in an unbiased manner. The nominee must have the ability to be a leader as well as a team player with a positive working relationship with subordinates as well as other supervisors, co-workers, and other professional entities.

The nominee is the one who takes the extra step and willingness to make a difference. He or she arrives early and is prepared to begin working. The nominee does their best every day without complaint. He or she is knowledgeable of policy and procedures and is reliable when called upon to assist in tasks asked of them. The nominee has demonstrated an exemplary performance on a daily bias. This award gives the PSAP an opportunity to acknowledge a member of their staff publicly.
9-1-1 TRAINING PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
