Why You Should Text 9-1-1
Text to 9-1-1 can be used in an emergency in which you are unable to make a phone call. For example, if you are in a situation in which it is unsafe for you to call 9-1-1 as a voice call could place you in danger, you can text 9-1-1. You should also text to 9-1-1 if you are unable to make a phone call for medical reasons, or if you are Deaf, hard of hearing, and/or speech impaired. Texting is an alternative solution if calling is not an option.
